An event that nobody wants. For quite a while, organizations have shifted away from isolated and elaborate strategy events to build more rigor and discipline into strategy implementation. They introduced business reviews as part of their managerial procedures. Successful organizations have further separated these reviews into distinct strategic and operating reviews. Business Reviews close the gap between business performance and the strategy. A process and practice. Our experience is to not just separate these two types of reviews, but introduce a new managerial dialogue and conversation style in these meetings.
